Members of the Vietnamese Cultural Garden committee led by Gia Hoa Ryan and Lt. Colonel Joe Meissner with members Debbie Hanson and Dan Hanson met with Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation President Sheila Murphy Crawford to look at potential garden plots.

When Gia Hoa Ryan saw one of the plots (toward the North on the East side of MLK Blvd.) she was reminded of her childhood home in Vietnam and immediately started generating ideas for the Vietnamese Garden.

The committee agreed and Sheila Crawford locked in the plot as the future home of the Vietnamese Cultural Garden.
