Confucius Institute at CSU Teacher Appreciation Day

Sponsored by the Office of Chinese Language International Council (Hanban), the Confucius Institute at Cleveland State University was established in August 2008. Each year they hold an event to honor teachers. About 270 teachers, students and administrators from 26 different schools and organizations attended the 2017 event

International students from around the world who are attending school in Cleveland attended InterCLE 2017, a grand welcome for international students hosted by Global Cleveland and Friends of Global Cleveland a new, international young professionals group and with the support of the City of Cleveland.

Cleveland Asian Community leader and filmmaker Johnny Wu spoke at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage on a Global Cleveland panel titled Begin the Conversation: Cleveland's Immigrant Communities Today: Pan-Asian Community. He said that both native born and visiting students need to learn from each other and respect each other's cultures.

August 3, 2016

Harlan L. Smith, Director of the Center for International Services and Programs at Cleveland State University (CSU), spoke at a press conference hosted by Global Cleveland and the Partnership for a New Economy at Cleveland City Hall. He said that US immigration and nationality laws have not kept pace with the frequent changes experienced in academia and business.
