Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland Annual Meeting and Tea Patrick S. Parker Community Sailing Center June 14, 2026
The Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland was founded in 2004 by Gerry Quinn as a not-for-profit corporation to provide a forum for information and activities of interest to individuals of Irish descent particularly those with ancestral ties to County Mayo. Colleen Corrigan-Day is the current president.

The Society makes contributions to public charities in the United States that have a link to County Mayo in Ireland or to Ireland, or to public charities in Ireland, or for temporary emergency relief to indigent Irish nationals in the United States who are in urgent need of medical attention, are victims of crime, or victims of man-made or natural disasters.
They held their annual meeting and a social tea on Sunday June 14, 2026 in the just opened Patrick S. Parker Community Sailing Center. President Colleen Corrigan-Day welcomed the crowd and introduced Sister Catherine Walsh (Sisters of Charity St. Augustine) for a prayer.

Group business and elections were held and the formal meeting adjourned.

Colleen called up Mark Owens, Honorary Irish Consul for Ohio, who gave some updates.

Mark also spoke about three flags - the Irish Tricolor, the green and red County Mayo flag and the US Flag on Flag Day. Watch.

After the meeting and speeches, students of the Burke School of Irish Dance performed. This is the introduction and then the Butterfly Dance. Watch.
