Asian Heritage Day
Cleveland City Hall May 30, 2025
The City of Cleveland, under the leadership of Asian Community Liaison Chia-Min Chen, hosted the first Asian Heritage Day in the Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall.
About 15 Asian heritages were represented with tables showcasing the flags, clothing and other items of their heritage. Besides the Rotunda visitors, the representatives of the various cultures had the opportunity to connect with each other - some for the first time.
Here are some of the interesting and colorful cultures on display.

One of the highlights was the ClevelandPeople.com area where maps of Asia and a closeup map of the Middle East (part of Asia!) were on display. Both visitors and exhibitors had lots of questions and comments (Russia is so big!) about the maps.

Here is a quick video walk around the room to see display tables from Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan and others. I made a mistake and said Nepal when I meant to say Bhutan. Sorry. At the end of the video are some pictures of people posing with the maps.
Chia promises this will become an annual event and already has plans to expand for next year. It was a fitting conclusion to a very active Asian Heritage Month in the City of Cleveland. Thank you Chia.
