Independence and Unity Day is a Slovenian national holiday that occurs on every December 26 to commemorate the official proclamation of the Slovenian independence referendum on that date in 1990. In it, 95% of the voters favored the establishment of an independent and sovereign nation. The Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia, Suzana Cešarek, hosted a reception to celebrate the 35th Independence and Unity Day of the Republic of Slovenia.

She gave remarks looking back at the events and accomplishments of 2025 and a look to what is coming up in 2026. Then a group gathered to give holiday greetings to countrymen in Slovenia. Watch the video.
