Scottish Cultural Garden Groundbreaking East Blvd. Cleveland June 1, 2026
The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are a chain of over 40 ethnic heritage gardens in Rockefeller Park in Cleveland Ohio. The Scottish Cultural Garden Society hosted a Phase 1 Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday June 1, 2026 at their site on East Blvd.

The ceremony began with Bruce Greig and Jessie Tucker playing Scotland the Brave.

Then Carol Leslie led the singing of Flower of Scotland, the Scottish National Anthem.

Rev. Dr. John Lentz from Church of the Covenant gave a Prayer of Dedication.

Sheila Murphy Crawford, Past President of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation, gave her welcoming remarks which included some history.

Bob Crawford, president of the Scottish Cultural Garden Society, spoke next.

Bob introduced the Executive Board consisting of Dave McLaughlin, Alex Murray, Mary Anne Baucco, Clark Langmak, Sheila Murphy Crawford, Bruce Greig and Landscape Architect Jim McKnight.

Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation President Dr. Wael Khoury spoke next.

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne presented a proclamation to the board.

Then Bruce Greig and Jessie Tucker played the bagpipes as the board and dignitaries grabbed the shovels and did the official groundbreaking.

Sheila Murphy Crawford gave concluding remarks and then the crowd sang Loch Lomond before posing for a group photo.
