To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Jordan's Independence the Unified Jordanian Community in Ohio hosted a festival at a park in Olmsted Township on May 30, 2026. The event featured a live concert featuring Jordanian star Hamoudeh Al Salman, Mawtini Folklore Dabkeh Troupe, Jordanian Flag Parade & National Anthem Ceremony, Authentic Arabic & Jordanian Food, Arab Bazaar & Unique Vendors, Family Activities, Games & Fun for All Ages.

Hundreds attended and cars with the flag of Jordan paraded in to start the event. Dr. Mohammad Alhawawsha, President of the Unified Jordanian Community of Ohio, welcomed the crowd, made introductions and accepted a proclamation from the State of Ohio by District 15 Ohio Representative Chris Glassburn. Watch a video. Note, the remarks are mostly in Arabic.
