Hungarian Cultural Garden Golf Outing Mayfield Country Club July 15, 2025
The Hungarian Cultural Garden is one of over 40 ethnic gardens in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. It is approaching 90 years old and by the efforts of volunteers and fundraisers such as this golf outing, it has maintained and enhanced its position as a jewel of the Cultural Gardens.

The golf outing began with a cookout lunch including Hungarian kolbász and other treats.

There was also a silent auction.

During lunch a putting competition took place on the practice green.
After lunch there was a brief ceremony.

Mark Yonke introduced Balint Bakondi, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chicago, who gave some welcoming remarks.

Next, Ron Kovach, president of the Hungarian Cultural Garden, gave a welcome and thanks.

Greg Polyak then reminded people of the annual Liszt Concert in the Garden and One World Day.

Shots of palinka were distributed and Balint Bakondi led the toast - Egészségedre!
Then it was time to hit the links with the promise of a delicious Eastern European dinner after the golf.
