The Cleveland Filipino community demonstrated their proud heritage at One World Day in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. One World Day has been the official event of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation since 1946. The Filipino community participated in the Parade of Flags which had 1500 people from over 53 countries.

After the Parade of Flags they welcomed visitors to the potential site of their new Garden.

Filipino Cultural Garden on One World Day

The theme of the 2025 One World Day was "Textiles." In the Filipino Garden we learned how pineapple plants are turned into beautiful garments called Pina including the national costume of the Philippines - the Barong Tagalog for men and the Baro't Saya for women. We saw the process to turn the plant into soft thread and then into clothing. Watch the video.
