Favorite Food Contest
Cleveland Asian Festival
East 30th and Payne Ave. May 18, 2025
One of the popular events at the 2025 Cleveland Asian Festival was a Favorite Food Contest over the two days. The three finalists were Blasian Fusion, Tita Flora's and Parilya. The winner of the people's vote on Saturday was Parilya.
All three returned on Sunday where a panel of three judges sampled the offerings. Gabriel Kramer served as the MC.
Parilya served Sisig, a Filipino dish made from pork jowl and ears (maskara), pork belly, and chicken liver, which is usually seasoned with calamansi, onions, and chili peppers. It originates from the Pampanga region in Luzon. The judges also selected Parilya as the best so they won both awards.
