Ambassador Nirupama Rao assumed her responsibilities as Ambassador of India to the United States in September 2011. Ambassador Rao came to Cleveland to meet with area leaders, including Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and County Executive Ed Fitzgerald. She also attended several events in Northeast Ohio's Indian-American community including a visit to the Indian Cultural Garden.
