Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup Cleveland Cultural Gardens April 25, 2026
Almost 100 volunteers showed up on a dreary Saturday morning April 25, 2026 for the annual Earth Day Cleanup Celebration in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. The Cultural Gardens are tended to by all volunteers from each community and the extra help is always greatly appreciated after a long winter.
Cultural Gardens Executive Director Tom Turkaly
Cultural Gardens Executive Director Tom Turkaly said, "We want to thank everyone who came out on such a dreary morning to help get the Gardens cleaned up and ready for the season at our annual Earth Day Celebration. The Gardens are tended to by all volunteers from each community and the extra help is always greatly appreciated. Special thanks goes to the following:
John Carroll on their Jesuit Day of Service sending over 55 students
Target employees
Hilton Hotel employees
NSA Safety Equipment employees
Home Depot at Severance Center for donating 300 leaf bags
Over 30 individuals that registered online
We had 17 Cultural Gardens participating this year and they all loved the volunteers and their spirit".
This short video shows some of the 55 John Carroll University students coming in on their Jesuit Day of Service including the men's soccer team. At the end you can see some of the filled leaf bags.
