Rotary Club of Cleveland Dedicates Plaza and Peace Pole
West 25th Street RTA Rapid Station October 30, 2025
The Rotary Club of Cleveland dedicated the Rotary Red Line Greenway Plaza and Rotary Peace Pole in a ceremony in the wind and rain on Thursday October 30, 2025 at the West 25th Street RTA Rapid Station. The Red Line Greenway is a nearly two-mile paved all-purpose trail that links the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Lake Link Trail to two RTA Red Line Rapid Transit stations, and provides a primary active transportation corridor from West 65th Street to downtown Cleveland.

The founders of the Rotary Red Line Greenway were Stanley H. Adams, Roy G. "Dutch" Harley and Peter H. Presson. The ceremony in the rain and wind featured and Honor Guard of Boy Scouts who presented the Colors and then a welcome and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Rotary Club of Cleveland president Laura Gambrell.

Past President and Past District 6630 Governor Beverly Ghent-Skrzynski gave a history of the Rotary's involvement in the Red Line Greenway.

Robert Oborn, District 6630 Governor, Northeast Ohio, gave his remarks and then Laura Gambrell introduced Global Cleveland president and CEO Joe Cimperman for his remarks.

President Gambrell gave some final remarks and then the group sang "Let there be Peace on Earth."
