Cleveland Community Relations Board 80th Anniversary Cleveland City Hall Rotunda October 23, 2025
The mission of the City of Cleveland’s Community Relations Board is to, “promote amicable relations among the racial and cultural groups within the community. Representing the social, economic, and cultural interests of the community, the Community Relations Board was created in 1945 as the first such body in the country to be established by municipal ordinance.
They celebrated this pioneering body with a celebration at City Hall on October 23, 2025.
The event began with the presenting of the Colors by the Cleveland PD Color Guard and the singing of the national anthem.

Community Relations Board Director Angela Shute-Woodson welcomed the crowd and gave somm remarks before introducing Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb.

Then Rev. Charles Lucas gave an invocation.

After dinner, a video was shown depicting scenes from the 80 year history of the CRB. Then, Director Woodson then introduced several speakers with a history with the CRB.
